Bereavements Matter
When death steals the lives of our loved ones it leaves us at the start of a journey with neither a map nor a sat nav to guide us. It is a long and lonely journey and while family and friends may be a great support and comfort to us it is often helpful and easier to share our thoughts and feelings with people outside that circle.

A member of our BereavementsMatter Team will listen as you tell your story - available throughout the year.
What people say...
“This opportunity was very helpful - to be heard leads to healing; to know that your story is not yet over and that your loved one’s story continues within your own.”
-
This provides a place for people to connect with others who have been bereaved and chat informally over tea/coffee and cake.
This is held in the Belicia Room at KCA on the second Thursday of each month, 2pm-3pm.
No sign up required – just drop in.
What People Say...
“I would heartily recommend CafeConnections, as I found it to be a place where I could just be me .... With no pressure or expectations asked of me, but kind conversation, a cuppa and sometimes cake, but always decent biscuits! Definitely a friendly welcome is found every time.”
-
This is a service of celebration for the lives of those we love who have died. It is held annually in November. During the service there is the opportunity to light a candle for our loved ones and to write their names on a heart which will be displayed on our Christmas tree in December.
During the service there will be a brief talk as well as readings and singing. After the service tea and cake is served so there is further opportunity to chat with friends and possibly make new ones.
What People Say...
“I love the Hearts of Love Service as it is a perfect opportunity to remember your loved ones aided by words and music in safe surroundings.”
