Reaching out

ā€œLove the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself.ā€
— Matthew 22:37-38

We understand these words of Jesus as a call to action.

As Christians we aim to be compassionate, loving and offer practical help wherever we can. We trust that our services to the community help reflect that.

Love your neighbour as yourself

Community care services

Community Care Services work in response to requests from referral partners, such as council departments and housing associations, made on behalf of the most vulnerable. However, for more general requests, the church may still be able to help if you call directly.

Our services to the community include:

  • A national charity which crowdsources small sums of money (up to three payments of Ā£120) for specific emergency needs.

Here is a link to their website if you wish to donate

  • CAP Provides sound and robust advice (plus a befriending support service based here at King's to people with financial and major debt problems.

  • The Furniture Project collects appropriate quality furniture (not White Goods) from kind community donors, enabling the Church to give away free 2nd hand furniture to folk who live in the Amersham/Chesham areas who have been assessed by a Referral Partner as being in a needy financial or domestic situation.
