King’s Church Amersham Football Club
The King’s Church Amersham Football Club (KCAFC), was set up in 1999 by the then Minister of King’s Church Amersham who wanted to give local boys who attended church on Sunday mornings an opportunity to play in a Saturday football league which did not conflict with Sunday worship. Starting out with a small squad of 8 players in the under 10 age category, the club has grown over the last 16 years to 15 teams with over 180 club members, ranging from under 6s to under 16s/17s. These 15 squads train together at Barn Meadow and Hervines Park on a Saturday morning and compete each season in the Chiltern Church Junior League from September through to April.
Today, the current Pastor and Elders of Kings Church Amersham see KCAFC playing a valuable role in the local community by providing a professional, friendly club for boys and girls in the area who can both learn to develop and enjoy playing in various League and Cup competitions.
The Club is operated in line with FA recommended guidelines and to an agreed set of standards for the good of the club members and to make it as professional as possible. As part of this process, many of our coaches are qualified to FA Level 1, which helps to ensure we are training the boys and girls to a high standard. Membership Fees are set annually to enable the club to maintain a balanced budget for the year.
The Club is run by a Committee who set out policies and procedures, which Team Coaches, Players and Parents are expected and encouraged to abide by, and carry out the necessary administration. As a Church based side, playing in a Church based league, the Club places a very high value on running a club which is both competitive and inclusive, where children are not only able to develop their football skills, but also to learn the value of teamwork and fair play. It is vital that the children and young people who are part of the club enjoy being part of the KCAFC and develop both their football skills, as well as learning to be good sportsmen and sportswomen who are both dignified and magnanimous, in victory and defeat.
The annual end of season presentation of individual and team awards is a real highlight in KCAFC’s diary and not to be missed!
