Christmas Appeal 2016 Update
We are delighted to announce that, thanks to the generosity of our congregation and visitors to the church, we were able to give a donation of £2,605.76 to Rennie Grove Hospice Care at the beginning of January this year.
On receiving the gift, Louise Hewitt (Community Fundraiser) asked us to pass on their thanks for your amazing support and generosity and outlined what work the funds could contribute towards :
- around 14 standard shifts for a specialist Hospice At Home nurse, visiting patients ion their own hoomes to ensure that families feel supported and patients’ symptoms can be brought under control
- or, the cost of 52 one-to-one counselling sessions with a Family Support Services counsellor, helping families to cope with illness and bereavement
- or, the cost of 2 syringe pumps – specialist equipment used by Hospice At Home nurses to help make patients’ final days more comfortable – a vital part of giving terminally ill patients the choice to be cared for at home, if that is their wish.
Rennie Grove Hospice Care believe that every local patient with advanced, progressive life-limiting illness should receive the care they need to live as fully as possible at home or wherever they choose to be, to the very end of their life. We at King’s are very pleased that our gift will help them to continue caring for patients and their families in the local community.
